A 20 page A5 publication in full colour containing a balanced blend of news, information and articles of interest. They are produced in conjunction with Discover magazine in the months of March, July and November.
5,000 copies are distributed across the county to all the county’s GP surgeries, NHS dental practices, community hospitals, Cornwall Council’s One Stop Shops and Social Care offices, as well as to the identified carers on the local register and to some key voluntary sector organisations.
We are always keen to receive articles, stories, poems or photos or to hear from carers who want to become involved in shaping future publications, to ensure Carers News becomes the user-led publication we always envisaged it would be.
Carers Continuing Support Service
This service is to provide on-going support for carers to ensure their journey through the Cornwall Carers Service is holistic. Carers will be referred to us if at such times they no longer have caring responsibilities and require assistance to adjust to their new circumstances.
We will provide a listening ear and practical assistance with housing, equipment, training, education and welfare benefits. We can also provide information in relation to accessing leisure activities and social opportunities to assist full re-engagement within the person’s respective local community.

Disability Cornwall is responsible for carrying out the monitoring within the Cornwall Carers Service, both internally and externally.
