Mid Cornwall

E012: A live in carer is required for an intelligent, sociable and sometimes, challenging older lady with Vascular Dementia. She is in the advanced stages of her illness, but is still physically well and enjoys crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, music, gardening and baking. In Falmouth area. On a two week on, two week off schedule. Pay will be based on age and experience.

 

The extra essentials…

We are looking for a special someone who believes in a person-centred approach in line with contented dementia principles. The following are essential:

  • Current driving licence and DBS
  • Experience of working with dementia sufferers
  • Sense of humour
  • Reliability and honesty
  • A caring nature.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Meal preparation
  • Dressing/ light personal care
  • Housework/washing/ironing
  • Take part in activities with the client i.e puzzles, baking, gardening
  • Take the client out for shopping, visits, outings as required
  • Companionship
  • Liaise with family in matters pertaining to care
  • Complete daily care log
  • Petty cash handling in relation to household budget.

E014: A Personal Assistant is required to support an older gentleman living near Truro living with Vascular Dementia. Pay will be dependent upon age and experience. And hours are reasonably flexible.

  

The extra essentials…

The person will need to help the gentleman with personal care twice a day at 8.15am and again at 6.30pm in conjunction with another PA. Understanding of the operation of a Joems Oxford Midi180 hoist and sling will also be necessary. Availability during some weekdays and/or evenings is also desirable.

E016: A Personal Assistant is required to support a nine year old boy with Autism, living in the Newquay area. Hours are flexible, and will include weekends and school holidays. Hourly rate dependent upon age and experience.

E034: A Personal Assistant is required to support a lady living in the Falmouth area both out and about and in the house with all aspects of life to lead an independent life as both an individual and a mum. Hours: Mondays and Tuesdays, 8am-6.30pm, Thursdays 8-11am and 4.30-6.30pm, and some at weekends on an ad hoc basis. Total weekly hours: minimum 25.

Car driver with access to a car is a requirement. Some experience of care and/or childcare would be great but no essential. Someone with a can do attitude, a sense of humour and a good energy level is also needed! Must be reliable and trustworthy. Flexibility would be a bonus. A DBS check will be carried out and start will be mid to late September.

E047: A Personal Assistant is required to support a lady living in the Truro area with trips to appointments, grocery shopping, and their voluntary role.

 

The extra essentials...

A lady living near Truro is looking for someone who would be available daily from midday for about 2 to 3 hours to drive her 4 to 5 miles to her voluntary role, take her shopping or attend doctor's appointments for example. The desired PA would need to be able to drive and would be required to carry items such as grocery shopping as the lady is unable to do so herself.

E052: A Personal Assistant is required to support a 14-year-old autistic boy, who has learning disabilities, additional complex needs and is nonverbal living in the mid Cornwall area.

 

The extra essentials...

Variable, flexible hours to support him in accessing the community, personal care and to assist in promoting independence and life skills but will need to include weekends and school holidays.

Candidates must be reliable, flexible and experience of Autism, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour, would be advantageous. Essential requirements are to be energetic and fun loving!

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and must be DBS checked. Additionally, they will have a full driving licence and own car. Activity & travel costs for outings will be provided.

Hourly rate of pay: Rate of pay will be dependent on experience and travel costs for outings will be reimbursed.

I have a number of physical and neurological issues which affect my mobility, dexterity, physical strength and ability to manage food and drink preparation tasks safely. I need assistance with personal care and unable to dress/undress without assistance. I need help to maintain my home environment and my memory is quite poor. I currently have a care agency to support me for most of the time but am looking to further recruit for around 9 hours per week help with housework, laundry and managing correspondence and support me to go shopping and attend church. In due course I want to increase the number of PA hours to replace the agency which will mean a total of 30 hours per week.
