Is there car parking near to the establishment?
Its a very steep car park so I was glad I had my PA with me!
Is there an accessible public transport route that stops near to the establishment?
Is there an accessible path between where you parked/left public transport, and the entrance?
I went to the Bluff hotel to use the wheelchair accessible path down to the beach.
Is there a level, or ramped, entrance to the building?
Its not perfect but you can easily enter into the Bluff hotel itself and the pub is flat with a good flat surface.
Was it easy to get into the building (how easy was it to use the door handles, how easy was it to open the door, etc.)?
Once inside the building was it accessible to you?
Are there steps/stairs inside this establishment?
When there are steps/stairs, are there handrails?
Were you able to get hold of any special furniture you needed once you were using these facilities?
Were there accessible toilet facilities?
Hotel is now closed for the winter season so this would need to be checked.
Was there an accessible changing place?
How did you rate the staff?
How did you rate the building/service/experience?
The point is, this was a completely inaccessible beach to any wheelchair user. Now there is a path from in front of the Bluff Hotel, which can take you right down and onto the sand. Yes it is quite steep (but with some rest areas) and I would have thought any disabled person would need to have somebody with them, so its not perfect access but, it is a massive improvement on what used to be completely inaccessible location.
