The Advocacy Fellows: Young Voices, Real Change

Nothing about us without us!

Every young person with a learning disability has the right to be heard, to make choices, and to shape their own future. But too often, their voices are missing from local and national decisions.

The Advocacy Fellows are here to change that, young people with lived experience, standing up for their rights and speaking out for others.

Working within disAbility Cornwall and with partner organisations, they are proving that lived experience is powerful. Together, we’re building a fairer future where young people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs have a real say in the services that affect their lives.

The Advocacy Fellows was designed by a group of young people, giving them access to resources to express their thoughts feelings and needs. They emphasise inclusivity and value the authentic narratives of people who are typically marginalised.

The Advocacy Fellows have their own Podcast, which usually runs from KMF Radio Redruth, and is released on disAbility Cornwall’s own disability lifestyle media network, DISCOVER Voices, which can be found on our YouTube Channel.
