The Moment Makers: Creating Connections, Building Futures

Celebrating connection, community, and the joy of shared experience.

Every young person with a learning disability has the right to live a full and meaningful life after education, with real chances to grow, belong, and shine. But finding the right opportunities isn’t always easy.

The Moment Makers are changing that. This inspiring intergenerational project brings together young adults with learning disabilities and people living with memory loss who attend Memory Cafes across Cornwall.

Through shared time, stories, and laughter, both generations build confidence, friendship, and wellbeing, while creating moments that matter.

For the young volunteers, the project also opens doors to new skills, community experience, and CV-building opportunities, helping them gain confidence and independence for the future.

Together, they’re showing that when generations connect, everyone benefits.
